Tae-kwon-do

Taekwondo is about self improvement and defense, and although one should always seek constant improvement, it is also helpful to have a way to gauge you’re progress. This is where belts, and rank, comes into play.
Ranks in Taekwondo are displayed by wearing a colored belt around the waist. Colors run the gamut, from blue, to red white, to yellow black, but one thing is common, starting at white and ending with black.
The number and color of belts depends on the school and organization the school is affiliated with. Some schools will only have a small number of belts, say 6 or 7, while some will have over 20. One way to tell of a school’s credibility could be it’s number of belts.
Traditionally, most Taekwondo schools had a small number of belts, but in a modern world it is common for schools to use belts and the testing (which I will talk about in a second) that comes with them as a way to create revenue.
Typically, to gain rank one will attend a test. Depending on the Taekwondo school you may be administered a written test as well as a physical one. Usually physical tests will require you to demonstrate you’re current form(s) as well as spar at a level expected of you’re rank. Finally, at higher levels, it is often required to perform a break, which is breaking a board or other object with a specific technique.
When you receive a belt in Taekwondo, you may also receive a certificate that indicates the rank you have just reached, once again, this is based upon school. It is also common for a Taekwondo school to provide more ranks for children then adults, this does two things; on the one hand, if the school charges for testing, it creates revenue; on the other hand, it allows children to feel progress.
Gaining rank usually means that you will be required to perform more complicated Taekwondo forms, spar at a higher level, perform more difficult breaks, and in more traditional schools, have a greater understanding of the art. Improvement is never ending! Always strive to be the best you can be!

 TEACHING STAFFS
GRADUATION DAY AT CONVOCATION HALL

Principal Bother V.M. Rao Message
                   Warm Welcome !
We are gathered here today for the St. John Bosco High School & Jr. College of Badlapur Kindergarten Graduation. This is a great occasion in the lives of all the children. It is also due recognition for the outstanding work of the staff and also a pretty emotional day for the parents.
Just looking around, the happy smiling faces says so much about the environment here. Our children have learned so much. The school places great value on community, learning, fun and a child centered approach.
Life is not just about learning to read and write. They are important, but just as important is love and friendship. This school places great emphasis on being part of the community. This is a lifelong skill which will help all of us flourish. It may seem slightly old fashioned but a sense of community to me is very important to the future of our nation and our children.
So, thank you to the teachers, the love you have for the children shines through in their results and thank you to all the parents who have willingly given their time.
Looking ahead our children are very well equipped to take on the next part of their educational lives. They have strong foundations and I feel very confident we have given the children a great start in life. They have learned many priceless lessons. Take on challenges, be loving, love learning, be part of the community, laugh and be all you can be. What parent would not give a million dollars for their children to have that attitude all their lives.
Thank you.

Hon. Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Jairaj M Rao Founder &  Principal , Respected Principal Brother V M Rao, Our Head Mistress Sister. Kala Ma’m , Beloved  Parents & Distinct Guest & most caring teacher’s  Class of 2014 and Families
Congratulations Class of 2014
First of all let me congratulate each of you wonderful children, well done
Getting graduated is no longer a phenomenon associated with adults. More than 200 students of Nursery / senior KG  / Std: 4TH will be Graduated today.
I know exactly what parents are going through at the moment as I have myself experienced the convocation of my younger son not long before. On one hand you want your child to grow up but on the other hand you want her/him to stay a child forever. It is an emotional moment!
“Parents should strike a balance between love and discipline. Also, give the child freedom and let her/him do whatever she/he wants to. Please don’t put your child in the rut of life so early. Don’t pressurise your child, rather, teach them by example. Children can achieve their dreams only when their parents stand by them,
Also let us all take a moment to recognise and thank the excellent teaching staff. I know all of the children just love to be with you. The love you show for our children is amazing. Our children are so well prepared to move on now and are hard working, respectful young adults. You have inspired them to reach for the stars and we are all very, very grateful.
Good luck and keep your star shining brightly.
